How to use NFC on an iPhone
The answer depends on which version of the iPhone and iOS you are using. If you are unsure which you have then you can go to Settings > General, then tap About.
If you have iPhone 13, iPhone 12, or iPhone 11 then there is nothing special you need to do. You can turn on your screen and move the phone near the center of the vinylkey album to read the embedded NFC chip using the automatic background tag reading iOS feature. The NFC tag can also be read through the album jacket so there is no need to remove the album.
If you have older iPhone hardware but have iOS 14 or newer then you can use the “NFC Tag Reader” function. You can use this feature by tapping the NFC button in the Control Center and then holding your iPhone near the center of the vinylkey album.
If the NFC button is not visible on your Control Center, you may need to enable it with the steps below:
- Open Settings app
- Select the option "Control Center"
- Scroll down and tap the green plus button to the left of "NFC Tag Reader"
