Are the NFC tags embedded in the vinyl ?

Near Field Communication ( NFC ) tags come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Some of them are simple stickers which can be attached to anything. But in our case we want them to be fully embedded and inseparable from the vinyl album.

For vinylkey the NFC tag is placed in the center of the album and underneath the center label. It is a common mistake to think that the center label is a sticker. However it is a simple piece of paper with no glue and goes into the pressing machine when the vinyl is pressed out. Another bit of trivia about vinyl pressing is that the center labels need to be baked at low temperatures for days to remove all of the moisture from the ink or else the moisture explodes under the pressure and heat of the press.

Our trick is that the NFC tag is placed under the center label and goes into the press. So, Yes, the NFC tag is fully embedded in the vinyl. In the image below, you can see an album cut in half and the white line in the middle of that is the NFC tag.
